I teach college-level English composition courses, developmental English composition, IVCC’s creative writing course, and the occasional literature course at IVCC both face-to-face and online. When I finished my undergrad and began graduate school, my goal was to return to and teach in the community college environment because I love being part of the many layers and needs such an institution provides its surrounding community. There is no other place to find a student body with such diverse interests, needs, and life goals, which is part of the reason I also make consistent good faith efforts to make my course materials and resources accessible to all learners, despite learning, physical, or emotional difficulties.
I have been teaching full-time at IVCC since January 2014 and have taught part-time since 2010. I moved to Illinois from Phoenix, Arizona and am originally from West Michigan.
